The Los Angeles Lakers are closing in on naming a new radio play-by-play voice.

BENMALLER.COM has learned the Lakers trimmed their search down to three finalists. The job opened when Joel Meyers decided to leave radio behind for the lights and makeup of television.

BenMaller.com NBA moles that bleed purple and gold say the Lakers will choose between Brian Wheeler (Blazers), Matt Pinto (Mavs) and a broadcasting baby named Spero Dedes (26-years old, NBA TV).

The franchise is still trying to fill the void left by the late Chick Hearn who had a 42-year broadcasting career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Laker Radio Finalists

1.) Brian Wheeler, the radio play-by-play voice of the Portland Trailblazers, from Los Angeles.

2.) Matt Pinto, the TV play-by-play guy for the Dallas Mavericks, from Boston.

3.) Spero Dedes, a 26-year old from NBA TV, who attended Fordham University in New York.
