Mets rookies dress like women?

Monday, June 26, 2006

As the Mets got set to leave Canada, they had 23 players and two rookies dressed like women, according to the NY POST.

Rookies Lastings Milledge and Alay Soler had to don special outfits for the trip from Toronto to Boston. Last season, the Mets had their rookies dress up on the final road trip of the year, but both Carlos Beltran and David Wright said the fact the team had to pass through customs yesterday had an impact in the decision.

Milledge was wearing a reddish-purple wig with a black mini-skirt, a black and magenta midriff-showing top and a white boa. Soler was wearing a pigtail wig with a pink flannel skirt, fishnet top and vest. "He's a pretty tall woman with big legs," Beltran said of Soler. Beltran said he and Pedro Martinez found the outfits.
