Random Thoughts...
 By Ben Maller Baseball The Dodgers should try and get Luis Castillo from the Marlins before he is traded for Adam Dunn or someone else... While Dan Evans sleeps in his Dodger Stadium office... Kenny Williams took a huge step getting the White Sox into the playoffs... Roberto Alomar and Carl Everett will make a huge impact in the Sox pathetic offense While Alomar and Everett will help the White Sox can't be called a legit contender until they get back to .500... That said the Sox have a huge advantage in the AL Central because they are able to do things via trade that Minnesota and Kansas City can only dream about... I'm guessing that Kevin Millwood will not stick around in Philadelphia next season. He's a southern guy and will try to return to Atlanta if they will take him back. The Marlins are idiots not to trade Mike Lowell right now... He's 29 years old and having a career year... Florida has a stud third base prospect and they won't be a serious playoff contender for a couple years... If you look at the Dodgers lineup they have holes at 1B, 2B, SS and 3B... The all Mendoza Line infield is not getting it done... I'm still trying to come up with a good trade that Dan Evans has made... That Todd Hundley for Eric Karros and Mark Grudzielanek deal combined with the decision to sign over the hill Fred McGriff should put him on the hot seat... Whoever trades for Armando Benitez deserves to have Benitez meltdown on the last day of the season to cost them a playoff spot... The Giants would have won the World Series this season if they had kept Jeff Kent... Basketball Jason Kidd is a great player in the Eastern Conference... he's just a good player in the Western Conference... Kidd should stay with the Nets or sign with the Magic... Gary Payton and Brad Miller or P.J. Brown would be perfect for the Lakers... I would run away from Juwan Howard if I'm the Lakers... he's trouble... The guy is a grade A loser... Gilbert Arenas had one pretty good season for a dog team in Golden State... how much is that worth in today's NBA... If the Clippers were smart they would work out sign and trade deals with Elton Brand, Lamar Odom and Andre Miller... your better off getting something this year rather than nothing next year... What are the Vegas Odds that Jason Kapono will have a better NBA career than fellow Cavs pick LeBron James... Michael Jordan is apparantly so desperate to buy an NBA team I wonder if he'll call the paper clips... Could you imagine Donald Sterling and Jordan side by side... Reports say that John Paxson wants to bring Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant back to the Bulls to end their careers... I hope Granville Waiters and Dave Corzine are also making a return to Chicago... Michael Olowokandi is the "money pit" of NBA free agency... who's going to flush away millions on this generations Benoit... Robert Horry proved against the Spurs that he is done... Horry was Mr. Clutch for the Lakers but he's turned into Mr. Brick... Hope he likes sitting on the Rockets or Magic bench next year... permalink |
